The new, next generation PortaTray™ from Tri-Star Packaging has scooped a major industry award at the lunch! Innovation Challenge.
Now made with higher quality, rigid board, the new PortaTray™ can be easily split from a 4-cup to a 2-cup with no residue and presents a smoother surface for enhanced print finish, maximizing branding opportunities. The Innovation Challenge judges awarded the new PortaTray™ a Silver Award and said Tri-Star Packaging demonstrated great Eco credentials and that the product has huge potential for venues and stadiums.
The revolutionary flat-pack, pop-up multi-drinks tray reduces storage and handling costs by 50%, taking up just half of the space of a traditional pulp tray.
Safe and easy to use, the PortaTray™ can be ‘clicked up’ in seconds by staff and consumers, cutting service and queuing times by up to 25% and helping to guarantee a smooth flow of trade – critical for fast service venues.
New grip holes in the side panels enables easier and more secure carrying of large drinks, with stability even at a 45° tilt, reducing the risk of accidents – great for busy cafes and drive thrus. It can be branded on all four sides, which means it is ideal for communicating brand identities and sponsorships.
The PortaTray™ also meets tough environmental standards and is made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste and is recyclable, compostable or reusable.
“We are delighted to be a finalist and winner in the lunch! Innovation Challenge for the ninth year running,” says Kevin Curran, Managing Director, Tri-Star Packaging. “We remain committed to product innovation that addresses the commercial and environmental challenges of our customers and the industry.”
