Tri-Star Unveil
Star-bag – the convenient cup carrier bag
Tri-Star Packaging, one of the leading innovative food solution providers, will be unveiling for the very first time, its revolutionary Star-bag, the new convenient cup carrier, designed specifically for the coffee and sandwich bar market and other food-on-the–go retailers on stand no C315 at Lunch! from 26-27 September at Old Billingsgate.
Manufactured by Dempson Crooke, for Tri-Star, the Star-bag, is made of easily recyclable kraft paper, incorporates a strong containerboard cupholder so that customers can carry a hot drink and snacks, at the same time in one bag.
“The Star-bag is all about convenience,” says Kevin Curran, Managing Director of Tri-Star Packaging. “It makes life easier for the retailer, because it means they can cut out additional pulp cup trays, reducing cost and the need for storage. It also makes it easier for the customer, because they can buy a sandwich and a hot drink and take them away in one bag. There’s no more fumbling with a bag and a tray, while you’re also trying to hold your change, your keys, your phone and perhaps the rest of your shopping. I’m convinced that will mean more sales, particularly of hot drinks, for every retailer who uses the Star-bag.”
“It’s great from an environmental point of view,” he says. “It means less packaging and reduced transport. The raw materials for it come from sustainable forests and are fully recyclable. Tri-Star will also be helping Lunch! visitors meet their CSR* objectives by showing them the first comprehensive range of recycled and recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) food packaging.
Competitively priced, high quality containers for sandwiches, salads, cakes, wraps and bagels will all be available in Tri-Star’s rPET range, giving, retailers, sandwich or salad producers, retail coffee shops and bakeries the opportunity to choose the environmentally and economically sustainable products whilst not compromising on quality or presentation.
“With the grab and go market growing at a phenomenal rate no food retailer can afford to make a mistake when it comes to choosing the right packaging,” says Kevin Curran.
